Malaysian found the technique of using "Rattan" instead of bamboo. We found that rattan is a high elasticity material that it wont breaks easily. Bamboo has sharp edges and cuts easily it is also a non elastic material and breaks easily. Once it breaks, it hurts lion dancers easily. Besides, we are also the pioneer country to use "Aluminum Base Frame", Plastic Hose (for the handle), "Sheep Fur", "Laser Paper Skins" and "Fluorescent Bright Painting" ,to beautify the lion heads that we sees today.
